Iconic Theater | West Nha Trang

Located within the waterfront landscape of West Nha Trang, this Iconic Theater is envisioned as a signature cultural landmark where architecture, nature, and urban experience converge. With a study area of approximately 1.5 hectares, the project is positioned as a key destination point along the riverfront, forming part of a broader eco-urban vision connected to the Cai River. More than a performance venue, Iconic Theater is designed to become a public icon - a place for cultural events, community gathering, tourism experience, and destination branding.

The design concept is inspired by the image of the western sunset over the Cai River - a poetic moment when the sun rests gently above the theater’s domed roof, reflecting on the water and illuminating the surrounding landscape. Every element of the project, from spatial organization and building height to viewing direction, is carefully considered to capture this symbolic moment. The circular form of the theater evokes the image of a setting sun, while its waterfront setting creates a dramatic visual identity: “the sun descending upon the river, lighting up a new urban landmark.” Set within the larger Nha Trang Heritage Eco Urban Area, the theater contributes to a development vision that combines riverside living, wellness, hospitality, commercial services, landscape, and public space. The project’s planning approach respects the natural waterfront setting while introducing a contemporary landmark that enhances the cultural and economic value of West Nha Trang.
